My love of music started before high school, when I recognized my voice as my new life companion. There seemed to be no limit to what I could sing: classical, country, folk and gospel. I sang in choirs for school and church, and dabbled with the guitar, just for myself. At age 21, I sang one season with the Seattle Opera when I discovered I had a musical style after all – and opera wasn’t it.  

My other great love was snow skiing, and I quickly realized I’d need a way to support it. Advancing as a professional level three ski instructor helped my cause, but I also managed to get paying music gigs at the slopes. Self-taught on guitar, I performed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Sun Valley, Idaho and at Alpental in beautiful Snoqualmie Pass. While teaching skiing at Stevens Pass, I joined the Village Voices in Leavenworth, Washington.

Over the years singing with various choral groups, including an all-male gospel choir, I lent my then tenor voice to many solos and have sung the Messiah more times than I can remember. There were even musical theater productions in the mix (a family member talked me into those).

Then about ten years ago I got serious: I retired from running my own business to do music full-time. Selling my excavator and dump truck to buy a sound system and a really good guitar was the  second-best decision I’ve ever made (the first was marrying my wife Anne).

Now I share my love of music – especially country, folk and gospel – with local audiences everywhere, from retirement communities and churches to wine tasting rooms and other fine establishments. I hope you’ll join me, and don’t forget to request your favorite song from my song list.
